Preconstruction Services Pre-design estimating. Use historical data and our database library to determine accurate cost options for the owner and client based on square foot, unit, installation, per linear and other project specific considerations. Budget tracking. Our database allows us to quickly assess the full impact of any changes being considered prior to implementation. Value analysis. We provide the design team with the costs associated with any changes and the value need to keep the project within budget. Value engineering. We determine and provide which items offer the most value for the intended use. Value management. With diligent budget monitoring, we present the team with the options that need to be considered and other alternatives such as substitutions. Pre-construction planning. With the coordination of our estimating and BIM capabilities, we can outline the plan cost and other modifications that may become apparent as an added value. Manpower loading evaluation. Our scheduling team will develop and determine a feasibility schedule to accurately assess the project manpower needs in coordination with current work on hand for enhanced and timely forecasting of project needs. Virtual Construction - BIM/CAD Modeling Corbins has been working with BIM type projects since 2005 and currently employs a full time staff of detailers, designers and schedulers. We have the ability and the software to do all necessary and desired coordination of the 3D modeling and conflict resolution in-house. Our facility is set up intentionally for this purpose. Our staff utilizes multiple software platforms to be able to translate to whatever platform may be necessary to most effectively complete our work. We can work in 3D models or create our own model format to best serve our clients intended purpose. Our software includes NavisWorks Manage 2009, 2010; Auto Cad 2007, 2008, 2009; Auto Cad MEP 2009, 2010; Revit MEP 2009, 2010; Bentley Microstation; Bentley Build Electrical Systems and Bentley TriForma. To more effectively use our resources, coordination can be accomplished both on site and remotely from our office location. We work with all the trades involved and as needed to achieve this. Corbins Field Supervisors have on-site computers with the capability of viewing the entire model in 3D to eliminate coordination confusion. Pre-Fabrication Facilities / Opportunities For the past five years, Corbins has maintained a full service, staffed Prefabrication shop. In this quality controlled environment (currently 8000 square feet), we are able to produce a large variety of pre-fabricated materials using templates of our own design for some items while others required are based on our BIM/Detailing group drawings. The production criteria is determined during our pre-construction meeting and ordered based on the schedule we prepare for our own work. Our prefabrication shop is UL 508A certified with annual renewals in December of each year. This certification encompasses all facets of control panel work including lighting retrofits / upgrades. Quality Control Corbins Electric has developed and maintains a comprehensive written quality assurance / quality control program based on our commitment to standardizing the quality expectations and measurements throughout the company. The program includes a proactive approach to avoiding re-work and delays through early and regular pre-job planning and monitoring of the installation. The use of forms, checklists, and other pertinent record keeping assists us in achieving these quality goals and also serve as a feedback mechanism for continuous improvement. All projects are set up with pre-determined milestone inspections to be performed by the leadership onsite and complemented by the periodic internal documented quality walks by our Operations personnel, Project Managers, General Superintendents and site supervisors.
